Casa Tato

Casa Tato is an 18th-century house renovated to find the comfort of our days (as much as possible), preserving its essence as an old village house. It still has its narrow and steep stairs. Its walls show us the passage of time. Most of it is painted with environmentally friendly products. Most of the furniture is restored and others are made from recycled materials. It is located in Figuerola d'Orcau, a village of about 150 inhabitants, where children can run freely through the streets. The church bell tower is next to it, which may not be pleasant for some people, but the people who have stayed in the house have never been bothered by it. The neighbors, and ourselves, will try to make your stay as welcoming as possible. You will find a bar in the village, Bar Racó de la Font, and two restaurants, Restaurant-Celler Xic 's de calç Borrech (Friday dinner, Saturday lunch and dinner, Sunday meals) and Restaurant Gala (lunch menu €10 on weekdays and €12 on weekends). There is a bakery that makes traditional country bread with a recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation, as well as Xefla cake and panadons. Guided tours are available to some wineries in the village. In summer, you can enjoy the municipal swimming pool or the river that runs next to the village, the Abella river. It is a village dedicated to agriculture, winemaking, and livestock farming. It is very peaceful. A beautiful old fountain with its continuously flowing water outlets makes the traveler stop and admire it. Figuerola is located on a gentle promontory, and it is the village that best preserves its structure as a closed medieval village in the Conca Dellà. The oldest part revolves around the church, while a later extension extends beyond the main square with arcades, where some noble buildings from the 16th century are preserved.
