Can Berlinga

Can Berlinga is a beautiful house located in the municipality of Vilademuls, Girona. Vilademuls is a municipality in the region of Pla de l'Estany, which borders Alt Empordà. It is situated about 120 meters above sea level. As for its history, Can Berlinga is a farmhouse dating back to 1737 located in Orfes. The name of the farmhouse comes from Mr. Salvi Casademont, whose profession was a watchmaker, who carried and repaired wall and pocket watches made of Berlingen marl. He sold so many that he was called Berlinga, and from there comes the name of the house, which has been preserved throughout the generations within the same family. Orfes is a small village in the region of Pla de l'Estany, between Empordà and Garrotxa, near the Fluvià river, with its lock and the stream of Ramirol. It is about 30km from Girona and rises about 100m above sea level. Our accommodation, Can Berlinga, is located at the top of the village, on a small hill, next to the chapel dedicated to Sant Roc. Like the other chapels in this area dedicated to Sant Roc and Sant Sebastià, it was chosen due to the terrible plague that affected these areas in the 17th century. The action of time and lightning has reduced it to a ruined state. Can Berlinga has two rural apartments, Tramuntana and Migjorn, equipped with all the amenities to enjoy a stay in nature. The accommodations have a capacity for 4 people each. We have a large covered porch with a barbecue to have outdoor lunches or dinners. An ideal space to enjoy with the whole family and also for groups (possibility of renting both apartments together). Both apartments are composed of a kitchen-dining room equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, washing machine, and kitchen utensils, two double bedrooms, a full bathroom, TV, and the possibility of adding an extra bed. Both share a porch with a table and bench. In addition, it should be mentioned that pets are allowed.
