Cal Son

Cal Son is a house located in the urban center of the town of Alpens, in front of a small square and fifty meters from the church of Plaça Major. The house was built in 1771 and corresponds to a typical type of townhouse, although on its north side it borders the former nuns' garden, currently converted into a private garden. This residence was purchased by the current owner's grandmother in 1961 and, until today, it is the place where the family enjoys the location, the town, and its people. The building is oriented to the west and consists of a ground floor, first floor, second floor, and attic, and is crowned by a double-pitched roof with ceramic tiles. The main facade faces the street, the rear facade opens onto a former courtyard of Ca les Monges, and its northern part only communicates with the outside through a small window in the attic. In 1997, the house was completely renovated and conditioned, and in 2010 heating and an elevator were installed to connect the ground floor with the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a dining room, kitchen, and a small bathroom; on the first floor, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a living room with a fireplace; on the second floor, there is a double bedroom, a single bedroom, and a complete bathroom connected to the balcony. The house preserves antique furniture and all the original objects that have been part of its history, but it is fully equipped with current facilities and necessary amenities to offer a comfortable and pleasant stay.
