Cal David

Cal David is a special house for me because it was a dream come true. Right where it is located, it has witnessed the wheat, hazelnut, and almond crops of Cal David in the beautiful town of Capafonts. In 2005, we bought the land and I was fortunate enough to carry out a bioconstruction project, using all natural elements, such as dry stone cork insulation, black clay to capture heat, and a lot of wood from sustainable forests. The house is oriented in all four directions, using the south slope to capture heat through the solar greenhouse. In addition, the house has a large biomass stove. Thermal energy for cold winter days with electric radiators in the north-facing rooms. Its magnificent location in Capafonts allows for views of the Brugent Valley and the mountains known as Motllats. Capafonts is a beautiful town with a lot of history and, above all, a unique environment amidst the Prades mountains. It has a tourist office for guided tours with an oven and its medieval streets and unique houses.
